Downforce – Such a fun racing game

A few years ago, I was introduced to a new racing game from by Restoration Games that has become one of my favorite racing games of all time – Downforce!

In the game, players bid in car auctions, race the cars, use special powers, and bet on the outcomes. There’s no dice rolling as it’s the cards that determine which color cars move and how far. And even though you want to favor the cars you bought in the auction, the cards you play will also be moving other player’s cars as well.

I first played Downforce at SaltCon End of Summer 2021 and then bought a copy later that year.

So it’s high time for me to write a review about it and share why I enjoy it so much.

Cubitos – a fun dice-building, racing game!

It’s time to get your race face on.

Because today we’re sharing all about this dice-building, dice-rolling, power-upping, push-your-luck, racing game!

It’s a new game by AEG called Cubitos.

And if you think you’re staring at SpongeBob SquarePants on the cover of the Cubitos game box, you’re not. What you are staring at though is a really big chunk of cheese wearing lederhosen!

Why? We have no idea.

But it definitely grabs attention. And if you’re like us, it makes you very curious about what’s inside. So, let’s dive in!

I doubt that most people readying our game reviews have.

Well, now’s your chance! Step up to the table in Camel Up and give it a shot!

Of course, there isn’t any real betting going on, but you are guessing which camels are going to be in the lead each leg and win the race in the end.

And with how these camels move in the race, you can never be quite sure how it’s going to finish.

Super Mario: Level Up! board game review

“It’s a me, Mario!”

I wish we could play the catchy Super Mario music to go along with that phrase for you, but you’ll just have to imagine it yourself. That is, if you’re a Mario fan.

Divinity Derby board game review

When I first heard from Ares Games about Divinity Derby, I didn’t think much of it. After the game arrived, I took a quick look at the rules and because the game play isn’t very complicated, and it plays up to 6 players, I decided to give it a shot soon after.

That’s when I discovered how much fun it was!
