Quarto is a board game that doesn’t need a lot of instruction. In fact, when we first saw the game we wondered what we were missing because the only type of instructions we could see were so short that we thought we must be missing something.
So we just went with what we were given and it turned into a family board game hit. We love to pull Quarto out when we want a quick 2-player challenge.

Othello is a classic game that has sure stood the test of time. I remember learning it when I was little and I’m happy to see that our children love this board game too. Like many 2 player strategic games, it can really develop good thinking skills.

Blokus has become a staple in our family.We play Blokus regularly because it’s such a quick and easy game to play, yet can pack a punch because you never know when it’s going to take a turn against you.
It’s also a favorite board game to play at larger family gatherings because it can be fun to rotate through the players.

Catch Phrase is a great party game for both friends and family. There are many “guess the word” party games, but Catch Phrase is the one that tops our list.
It’s probably our favorite word party game because of the fast-paced action in quickly guessing and passing on to the next team before the timer stops. And it’s the timer that gets players talking frantically and gets them flustered because it starts beeping faster and faster as time goes on.
