  • We've just started getting into board games because our daughter is just now getting old enough to understand the rules and play games w/ us. She could always do the younger games – the "Jr" versions of games, Candy Land, Go Fish, but she can now join us in games like Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, and Roll Through the Ages. We have a small collection going and while I really like Dominion, I'm more of a fan than the rest of my family.

Overall favorite is probably Ticket to Ride with Roll Through the Ages coming somewhere in second place. My daughter likes the new, expanded Guess Who game. I like Dominion more than the others, though I'll generally play them.

With only three of us, it's harder to pick some games because they're either a little beyond our daughter or just play better w/ more people. That will change as she gets older, but until then … I'd love to hear the perspective of the kids on games as well as your thoughts on playing with them. That's something that definitely has not been a part of most game reviews.

  • Just a follow-up to this. When we play with some friends of ours, they enjoy Dominoes (42) and Rummikub as well. We've been slowly introducing other games into the mix and we got them hooked on Ticket to Ride. We found out there's a section on boardgamegeek.com that has custom maps/cards that can be printed for play. That turned out to be a lot of fun as there are all sorts of maps available and it can really change up the game. The Texas map got pretty hectic towards the end of the game. BTW, enjoying the reviews from the kids' perspective. Keep 'em coming.

  • We love, LOVE Double Ditto game. I like that it’s so simple to play yet provides a ton of fun for all ages. Right out of the box, you’re ready to play in 3 minutes or less. Another greet feature is that you can play for as long…or as short….as you’d like. Nothing kills a game night quicker than a game that goes on forever. Our 4-year-old plays all the way up to adults and it’s a riot for everyone. Great game—two thumbs way up!!
