And then there was one…

This past week was another big milestone for our family.

Our 3rd child headed off to college on Monday to start her next adventure.

Which means we’re now down to just one child at home!

How did that happen so fast?

They grow. They leave.

Time Keeps Ticking

Family time
Looking back is a lot of fun. And looking forward puts smiles on our faces.

Next month will mark 10 years of doing family board game reviews!

Our youngest son was 6 when he did his first video reviews of Pandemic and Bang!

Now he’s got a driver’s license, a job, and is dating.

Such is the story of every family on the planet.

We do our best to raise our children to be independent — and then they move away to be independent!

While 18 years can sometimes seem like forever, looking back, the years fly by.

Just like that, as this summer comes to an end, our home is a bit quieter.

As much as we may bemoan their departure, we’re also keenly aware that once you’re a parent, you’re always a parent. They may be away from home most of the time, but we’re blessed to have strong relationships that will last forever.

Family Board Game Favorites

Yet, just because 3 of 4 kids are now out of the home, it doesn’t mean we’re going to stop reviewing family board games.

The reviews may be a bit more spaced out, but that also means we’re now more selective on which games we review. We’ll keep sharing awesome board games for you to enjoy with your family.

And with that in mind, today’s a great day to highlight some of Trevor’s, Jaden’s, and Brooke’s favorite board games and card games over the last 10 years. (Click the links to see our their full review)

Just writing this list brings back lots of great memories.

We hope you’re making great memories with your family as well before your kids head out to their next grand adventure.

  • I had assumed that you had younger kids. But it’s good that you’ve helped develop a love for boardgames in your children

  • Ah, as a father of younger kids (3 and 5) this made me feel quite emotional, and encourages me to create good memories with my own kids. Hope your family finds good shape and energy as you get used to just being three at home, even as you continue to be a family further spread out!
