Updating Our Favorite Games!

Which games will hit our Favorite Board Games lists?

It’s been 3 years since everyone in our family created our own Top 10 Games lists.

So we figured it’s time to revisit which games we each enjoy playing the most.

After all, we’ve played a lot more board games, card games, dice games, and party games since 2012. So it’s only fitting that some of those games now take their spot on our favorites list.

And it’s not an easy proposition.

With hundreds of games to choose from, it’s tough whittling it down to a Top 10.

As we’ve stated numerous times, the game we like playing the most always depends on what mood we’re in at the time. Are we in the mood for a light and quick game or are we in the mood for a deep strategy or deduction game? As such, the “best” board game is situation-dependent. (We’re sure you’re the same way.)

Likewise, the games we now enjoy playing the most completely depend on the stage our family is in. With busy teenagers and a busy career, time seems a little tighter and a bit more precious. As such, when the call goes out to all play a game together, more frequently we’re finding the lighter games hitting the table.

And that’s ok.

Another thing I noticed while compiling our lists this time, is that my wife and kids weren’t interested in ordering, or ranking, their lists. Everyone pushed back on my request to sort or rank their list. They simply said, “they’re all my favorites.”

So with that in mind, everyone’s group of Favorite Games will be listed in alphabetical order.

The first list we’re going to post will be Mom’s Favorite Games!

Happy Mother's Day
We’re starting with the most important list first – Mom’s!

We know it’s customary to build up to the big reveal, but in this case we’re going to start with the most important one in the family – Mom.

Not only is she the pinnacle of our family, but her Top 12 Board Games list from 2012 has consistently been the most visited page on our site for 3 years!

That tells us there are a lot of families in the world interested in knowing what mom enjoys playing.

So we figure, “why wait?” Why not give the people what they want?

And that’s why tomorrow we’ll kick off our Favorite Games lists with mom’s list.

Stay tuned…
