3 Cheers for Mom!

Look how we’ve grown mom!

Let’s have a rousing 3 cheers for moms!

What would we ever do without moms?

Motherhood is something I (dad) appreciate more and more as the years pass.

Family relationships have always been important to me. My father passed away while I was just a kid – deeply affecting all our lives (mom and 3 young kids).

Love old family photos: Mom, grandma, dad (pre-me), & older sister (plus a couple cousins and aunt).

Growing up, I’d frequently think how that had such an impact on my life and how much I would have loved to have my father around.

But as I became a dad, the more I’ve been struck with the impact that event had on my mom. Faced with a complete detour on life’s hope-filled journey, she was left to raise 3 kids on her own.

I’m learning to appreciate that even more each day as I work alongside my wife to raise our kids.

It’s an understatement to say that mothers are deeply involved in the lives of their children. It’s hard to fathom how deep that goes. I don’t know if I’ll every fully appreciate it all. It’s an emotional journey – the highs and the lows.

And it never ends.

And now my sister is a grandma!
Go moms!

Just because our kids will soon leave our home, they’ll never leave our lives and our hearts.

We’re connected forever.

And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

While it may be a U.S. holiday, we send our 3 cheers to mothers all over the world – Happy Mother’s Day!

You’re the shining star in our lives.

I know I’ve posted this video in the past, but it’s still one of my favorites celebrating the wonderful blessing of womanhood and mothers. Because from where I stand (as a husband and father) this is what I must strive for.

And to boot – here’s another great video about moms called Mom’s Hands. So true.
