Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I have great memories of St. Patrick’s Day growing up. Perhaps the memories that stick out the most are about the meals we’d have with green food. And even though I love milk, I was always a little hesitant to drink the green milk set before me.

For something as simple as making a meal with all green food, it was a great family tradition we’d do on St. Patrick’s Day that I cherish.

This year I think I’ll add to that tradition with and throw in some St. Patrick’s Day related board games to play.

The first question then is – What board games are out there that relate to St. Patrick’s Day?

To find out, we turned to the reservoir of all board game knowledge – BoardGameGeek – to see what others from around the world would say are great St. Patrick’s Day games (especially any folks from Ireland). And of course, game enthusiasts around the world didn’t disappoint!

While there may not be a specific St. Patrick’s Day board game, there are many that include leprechauns, shamrocks, and of course Ireland. Here are some of the suggestions for board games or card games that could have some tie-in and would be fun to play on St. Patrick’s Day:

Leprechauns Castle
Is there any gold in there?

Since the list of suggestions on BGG may continue to grow, you can also just check out the forum thread of the suggestions and comments directly.

And if you don’t have any of these board games, or any games with a Irish tie just pull out a board games with something green and have fun. Maybe it’s as simple as taking turns being the green playing piece.

Just don’t drop it in your green milk.
