Skyline 3000 – Building the Future

Skyline 3000 is a family board game that challenges you to build the tallest buildings in your new space neighborhood.

Plan ahead
With a limited amount of rounds, you must think about both short term and long term strategies if you want to win. Should you build taller or place a building to start a new block? Should you bid higher for that spaceport to be placed on your block or keep more cards to start the next round with?

Is Skyline 3000 fun?
It can be. But it depends on who you’re playing with. If you want an easy win, play with youngsters who think of more immediate desires because you’ll easily be able to trump them. But that’s really no fun. The best is when you get competitively minded individuals who are trying to keep your developments in check.

Can the whole family enjoy Skyline 3000?
While it’s not a complicated game, there are more elements to keep track of and more strategy than younger kids will be comfortable with. So we’d recommend this one be played with the older kids. And since the most that can play at a time is 4, if a youngster wants to join in we’d suggest they team up with someone older.

But I think the most telling aspect of how fun the game is for kids is that no one jumped up to do the video review this time – so it fell to dad.
