Get Bit! Lose a limb. Tons of fun.

Get Bit card game

Get your pirate and get swimming!

You’re a pirate lost at sea with a shark hot on your tail – what will you do?

Good thing your pirate buddies are out in the water with you because now all you’ll have to do is out-swim the other pirates.

Get Bit! is another simple and fun pirate board game that kids will love.

There may not really be a ‘board’ per se and it’s really more of a card game. But what Get Bit! does come with are 6 cool pirate characters with detachable body parts!

Yep – that’s the best part of the game in Caleb’s view too. He shows how much fun it is to pull off pirate limbs in his short video review of Get Bit!

Can the whole family enjoy Get Bit?

Get Bit! is a game that everyone in the family can enjoy. As you can see in Caleb’s video review, the game play is very simple. Play a card, move your pirate up in turn. Don’t be the one in the rear or the shark will take a bite out of your pirate.

The black pirate’s cards.

Because everyone chooses which card to play simultaneously, you never know when your plans will be foiled. It’s inescapable – your pirate WILL get bit. The big question is will you hang on long enough to win the game?

We also love that 6 people can play Get Bit!. That’s the perfect number for our family with plenty of jostling for positions.

Of course, you can play with fewer than 6 players as well. And if you’re playing with just 2 or 3 players, each player can control 2 pirates – thus extending the hope of staying alive.

Simple Fun

Get Bit! is actually part of a series of 3 pirate games (Get Bit Trilogy). We reviewed the first game, Walk the Plank, a few weeks ago. Walk the Plank is also a very simple game of playing cards and moving pirates around.

Yep – it’s fun to pull the pirates apart.

But you may have noticed that Walk the Plank didn’t get a video review treatment like Get Bit! did. The reason is easily summed up here – Get Bit! has awesome pirates that are just silly fun to pull apart. And the only way to review that kind of fun is with a video review. Go Caleb!

Oh, and the other cool thing about the pirates in Get Bit! is that you can choose what they look like. The game comes with a number of different character stickers to put on your pirates heads and bodies. Sure that’s only a 1 time choice when you first play, but it’s a fun part of the game nonetheless.

And when you’re kids aren’t playing the game itself, they can still have fun just playing with the pirates on their own.

How does Get Bit! score on the “Let’s Play Again” game meter?
Get Bit card game

Get Bit! scores very high on the “let’s play again” game meter because of how short and simple it is. And of course – the pirates!

Games go by quickly, so it’s very easy to put the limbs back on the pirates and play again. It’s also a very compact game and easy to take along for play wherever we’d like.

Thanks Mayday Games for another great pirate family game!

We’re looking forward to the 3rd game in the series (Hold Your Breath)…coming soon.
