Playing with 1,750 friends at SaltCon!

Last weekend was a blast.

For a couple days I was able to step away from everything else and just play games. It’s something I look I look forward to every year.

And once again, SaltCon hit record attendance. This was the 10th year of SaltCon and attendance clocked in at 1,750!

It’s a tribe battle for supremacy in Ethnos

In Ethnos, by CMON, players channel the help of giants, merfolk, halflings, minotaurs, and other fantasy tribes to help them gain control of the land and gain Glory. After 3 Ages of play, whoever has the most Glory wins!

When we first saw Ethnos, it made us think about Small World – another fun area control game with a variety of fantasy creatures. But once we looked further, we realized both games are vastly different in how they play out.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battles – The Monster Box of Monsters cooperative game review

One of our favorite cooperative board games from last year is Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle.

We really enjoy working together as Hogwarts heroes to defeat the Villains before they can take control of Potter-world locations.

So when we heard USAopoly was publishing an expansion called The Monster Box of Monsters, we were anxious to give it a go.

If you know someone who thinks board games are as fun as watching trees grow, how about challenging them to a new board game where you watch trees grow!

Ha – wouldn’t that be fun!

Board games come in all shapes and sizes and cover an unending array of themes. So having a game about growing trees isn’t really too surprising. But making such a game good is another matter.
