Are you ready to see which games Trevor lists as the Best Board Games and Card Games out there?

After seeing what our other 3 children have listed as their favorite board games, you may not be surprised at a number of games on Trevor’s list. But you’ll also see a few different games pop up as well.

After seeing what Jaden and Caleb list as their Best Board Games, it’s time to turn our attention to the female point of view with our daughter Brooke.

As with most pre-teenage girls, Brooke’s attention is mostly focused on her friends. She loves to hang with her friends, play with her stuffed animals, listen to One Direction, and play soccer. But she also loves one-on-one time with parents and enjoys playing games with the family (provided she isn’t currently at odds with her “annoying” brothers.)

So when she hits the board game closet, which are her favorite games to pull out to play?

Caleb is our “go to” board game player. If you’re ever in the mood to play a board game or a card game, you’ll find an eager player in Caleb. Mention playing a game and he’ll be right there. In fact, if you delay even a bit after mentioning playing a game, chances are good that he’s already got a game out, set up, cards dealt out and ready to play.

November and December are perhaps the busiest months for board game and card game purchases. When it’s time to buy gifts, so many families turn to board games.

Why? Because they’re a ton of fun to play with family. There’s a lot of bonding that can happen around a game table. And the holidays bring a lot of family together. Good memories and good times.

The other day I was looking at what the recent top selling board games are – to see what consumers

We get asked a simple question a lot this time of year. “What are the best family board games?” and “What board games should we get for our family?”

This year we’re trying something different. We thought it would be a good idea to share the perspective of each member of our family on what games they’d put at the top of such a list. So rather than just getting dad’s summary and having it go on and on with so many great board games and card games. We’re giving you the perspective of everyone else (then maybe dad will sneak something in in the end).

And we’ll start right at the top with Mom.

Our nephew (and cousin) returned last week from his 2 year church mission and we got to spend the extended weekend with their family catching up on many things as well as playing lots of board games!

Knowing that we’d be spending a long weekend at their home, and that Jake loves playing board games, we had the tough choice of which games we should first introduce him to upon his return. We wanted to take games he’d already be familiar with, but we also wanted to play games that we’ve added to our game shelves over the last 2 years that we thought he’d love.
