Our oldest son Trevor has been called to serve a church mission in WHEREVER!

This year we’ve written a couple times about the changing family dynamics as kids start to leave home. It’s a new and exciting time in our family.

The first to leave is always a new experience. Even though Trevor left for a semester at college recently, we’ve been able to see him often for family activities or college football game days. But leaving on a 2 year mission is a different story altogether.

This year I, dad, am joining in the Extra Life event and I’d love your support!

It’s no Ice Bucket challenge, so you won’t see a video of me dumping water on me head.

Instead it’s a drive to help Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. All the money raised for Extra Life 2014 will go directly to a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

A few months ago we posted a card game review for Boss Monster, a dungeon-delving game from the bad guy’s perspective. In the game you build out deadly dungeon rooms to lure and defeat the heroes from the village. Defeat the most valuable heroes and you’ll win the game.

All the artwork in the game is old-school, 8-bit video game style – just like the side-scrolling dungeon delving games from yesteryear.

Well, now it’s going digital!

It’s not often you see a family board game blog with “Appendix” in the title. But our board game family of 6 is now short 1 appendix.

Let’s just say it was quite the memorable 4th of July this year.
