The Quacks of Quedlinburg = strange name, fun game

No, The Quacks of Quedlinburg isn’t a game about ducks in a northern German town.

Well, part of that might be true – because Quedlinburg is a town in northern Germany. But the game has nothing to do with ducks.

Instead, The Quacks of Quedlinburg is about miracle doctor “quacks” showcasing their healing remedies.

In reality, the board game is a fun press-your-luck, bag-building game where players compete in brewing the best potions.

33 games we’ll still be playing in 9 years

We’ve reviewed over 400 games, written over 350 other game and family-related articles, and our video reviews have close to 1.8 million views!

I’ve been reflecting about the games we’ve played the most over the past 9 years and trying to predict the games we’ll still be playing 9 years from now.

It’s interesting to think about. Because in 9 years, all our kids will be out of the house and we’ll most likely have grandkids in the mix (woah, that’s weird to think about). That means more 2-player and lighter games hitting the table for my wife and I. And it also means pulling out younger kid games again for grandkids. But I’ll also still have game nights with my boys, so games they love to play make the list as well.

So which games will we still be playing with regularity in 2027?

The Joke’s On You!

It’s like an April Fool’s joke on unsuspecting families.

We see an enticing board game sitting on the shelf and think of the great stuff packed inside.

Fun at SaltCon 2016 continued – Day 2

After a full Day 1 at SaltCon 2016 into the wee hours, I headed to my hotel room for a few hours of sleep before diving back into many more tabletop games on Day 2.

Of course, in addition to playing games, I took more time on Friday to visit with the exhibitors in the game hall and talk to publishers and game designers. I also perused the Game Swap area every now and then for a hidden game gem.

After the main game hall opened that morning, I once again found a couple friends and we headed for the Hot Games area.

Now on to mini game reviews of the 11 games I played on Day 2!

20 Favorite Board Games – Dad

Now that everyone else in our family has shared their Favorite Board Games, it’s time for me, Dad, to share my favorites.

While everyone else in the family hasn’t updated their list since 2012, I consider my list a bit more frequently.
