Smash Up Awesome Level 9000 expansion review

Smash Up is a fun card game that pits players against each other with 2 mashed up faction decks of cards. The base Smash Up game includes 8 different factions from Aliens and Robots to Pirates and Ninjas. But there is also a lot of open slots in the game box – making it very obvious that more factions were to come.

So it really wasn’t much of a surprise when AEG relatively quickly released Smash Up Awesome Level 9000.

Castle Panic The Wizard’s Tower expansion review

Castle Panic is one of our favorite cooperative board games. The first time we played it, we knew we were hooked. Right from the start of the game, you can see why it’s named “Panic” because monsters are very quickly closing in on your castle walls and you can sense the doom.

Everyone we’ve played it with has enjoyed it as well. Working together to fight off the marauding monsters is a lot of fun. And it does take a lot of teamwork to win the game.

So when the expansion Castle Panic The Wizard’s Tower came out, we were anxious to get a copy to add to the fun.

Memoir ’44 Campaign Book Volume 1

In fact, Memoir ’44 even tops my favorite board games list.

But the problem, as we also mentioned in our review, is that it’s sometimes hard in our family to get enough others in the same mood at the same time to make the game really enjoyable. So the next choice is to get some friends together. But since they’re all in similar boats – balancing their own family schedules – it’s not a simple thing to just get a gang together.

And that’s why The Robots expansion for Power Grid is fantastic. With Power Grid: The Robots expansion, we can easily add players to the game for more fun.

Alien Frontiers: Factions expansion review

Alien Frontiers is another great board game that sits in our Family Favorites board games list. Not only that, but it also made Trevor’s Top 8 Best Board Games list. With only 8 games on the list, that’s a pretty high distinction.

So how would the expansion Alien Frontiers: Factions affect our opinion of the game?
Trevor sums it up simply, “Awesome!”
