If you can – get to ChiTAG!

The Chicago Toy and Game Fair (ChiTAG) is going on next week at Navy Pier in Chicago!

(Chicago Toy and Game week is Nov 20 – 23)

Oh, how I wish I could be there.

Unfortunately, once again, I’m going to miss it.

Because my business trip to Chicago is this week instead of next week. Major bummer.

So many toys to play with and try out.

But that won’t stop me from writing about it.

If you’re in the Chicago area (or can easily get there), don’t miss it.

Tickets are only $10/adult and $5/child.

ChiTAG brings together hundreds of companies and leaders in the toy and game industry and thousands of participants for a few days of good family fun.

So many of the board game companies that put out great family board games and card games that we’ve written about will be there including; Gamewright Games, Mayfair Games, Asmodee, Ravensburger, HasbroMindware, USAopoly, and Bananagrams.

How can you miss Bananagrams?

  • Compete in the Settlers of Catan and Rummikub tournaments
  • Participate in the Young Inventor Challenge
  • Use the force at the Star Wars Luncheon
  • Marvel at the Illinois Yo-Yo Championship
  • See the Bumblebee Camaro from Transformers
  • Experience dinosaurs, stage events, rides, contests and more MORE MORE!

And don’t forget the Toy and Game Inventor Awards (TAGIE Awards) and playCHIC, the innovative play-inspired fashion show fashion show.

Mayfair Games is hard to miss as well.

Our hope for this year’s winner of the TAGIE award is for Richard Garfield and his King of New York family board game. Another cool winner would be Oliver Morris for Gravity Maze – a cool puzzle game that we’ll be posting our review of in a couple weeks.

The good news is that the TAGIE awards have numerous categories for winners such as Toy Design, Game Design, Young Inventor, Rising Star, and Lifetime Achievement.

If you’re looking for a good hands-on play experience for your kids leading into the holiday gift giving season, the ChiTAG Toy and Game Fair is a great place to be next week.
