Fast-paced card playing fun from Out of the Box

How quick are your reflexes?
Brooke and Caleb tell what they think of 5 Out of the Box card games:
7 Ate 9, Super Circles, Run Wild, My Word, and Rock

As you’ll see at the end of the video, they each rearranged the games in the order of how they’d rank the card games. So I guess I’ll give my order as well – from what I like most to least.

7 Ate 9
I like fast-paced, all-play card games. But what I like most about 7 Ate 9 is that you have to be quick with your math as well. So with kids in elementary school, this is a great game family card game – since they’re keeping sharp in math while playing a game.

Run Wild
I really like rummy type games and mixing things around – taking from a pile and adding to another – trying to find opportunity wherever I can. But of course when playing with the kids, I dial it down so everyone can have fun.

Super Circles
This is another fast-paced family card game but with a different kind of mental thinking. You need to be quick on your matches and those circles can make it tough. Not only do I like playing these with the family, but I like Super Circles, Run Wild, and 7 Ate 9 with game groups too.

My Word
Good concept and works well for kids to pick out simple words. And if older siblings are playing we put restrictions on the size of words they can spell in order to keep it balanced.

Rock
While the kids put this at the top of their list, it’s the last on my list. I like the creative renditions of rock, paper, and scissors (I like the pocket knife scissors the best), but it lacks the learning aspect of the other games and is just for quick recognition. But with that said – for rating what games you’re kids will like we need to refer to the kids. Brooke and Caleb pull this one out all the time. They love the familiarity of it and the simple game play.

Since this is a review on 5 games, we don’t have our typical rating grid here. But you can see the order Brooke and Caleb put them in by watching the video.
